Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps with FlashDry Gel Technology
Do you have a puppy who’s not yet fully potty trained and can’t be trusted alone? Perhaps you foster dogs and have a new male addition who hasn’t lived inside ever. Maybe your pup is aging or has a medical issue making it harder for him to hold his pee. Or are you like us, and adopted a senior dog with an unknown past who in his first decade never learned to potty outside? In this post, we will share our experience with Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps. Designed to help keep pee off your floors and furniture.

Introducing: Winston J Dog
We adopted Winston in 2021. He was taken from the shelter by a local rescue, who was bringing him to adoption events at a local pet supply store. We both kept seeing posts about him, this cute tiny senior dog and we just felt drawn to him. A small black Chihuahua mix, two years after losing our large black senior Chihuahua mix, Nellie, how could we say no?
One weekend we went to meet him at an adoption event and he was so cute and soft like a teddy bear. We told the rescue we were certainly interested and wanted him to meet our other dogs. The rest is history, and Winston will be with us 3 years this fall.
Our other two males were puppies when we brought them home; so there was some time to get them potty trained. Rudy had an affinity for peeing in hotel rooms to cover up the other smells in the room. This is how we became acquainted with Belly Bands, or male wraps. They cover what they need to, and we still use them when we travel, just so we aren’t ruining any hotels or Air BNBs.
Winston, came to us, we were told potty trained, but he is not. And three years later, we still struggle. He does know to alert us when he has to go, but if you can’t get up right away to let him out, he will just go. Similar to Rudy, when we travel he will attempt to pee where we are staying. I say attempt because we’ve been bringing belly bands/wraps with us on all trips.
The problem is we’ve been using reusable wraps all these years. At home that’s fine, I can put one on him while Matt and I go for a quick trip out of the house, and if he has an accident in it, it goes in the wash. This isn’t easy on the road. Previously we were doing lots of sink laundry and drying the reusable wraps with a hair dryer.

About Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps
Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps claim to be ideal for incontinence, marking after surgery, excitable urination, and more. They feature a comfort hold strip- a patented fit technology to keep the wrap on your dog. It is a fastening system that is supposed to keep your dog from easily removing the wrap and won’t stick to or irritate skin and fur.
These wraps also feature flash dry technology turning the liquid “output” into gel similar to the idea of a human diaper. They boast a 6-hour protection, which is based on the average output of male dogs. The 6-hour protection could be especially useful for some flying with their male dog.
Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps come in a variety of sizes and two designs, camo and denim. I thought these were absolutely adorable.
Our Experience with Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps
We received our package of Hartz Disposable Male Dog Wraps free from PINCHme. I expected to receive 2-4 wraps in a sample package. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when a full package of 46 arrived in the mail!!!
The designs are super adorable. To think of him in either pattern made me laugh.
The size was perfect, Winston can put up a struggle when we put a wrap on him, which can lead to having to adjust. The problem with other disposable wraps is that they’re not easily adjustable without ripping the wrap. These were easy to adjust as he wiggled and in his short time wearing it, didn’t appear that he’d easily be able to wriggle it off. He is a bit of a Houdini when it comes to wraps and will squeeze his body into a small space, so he can get the wrap caught and slide out of it. He’s a smart boy.
There is a labeled part in the front to let you know which part to put against that part of his body to make the most of the absorbing properties of the wrap.
I kept him in it while I was doing some things around the house hoping he’d have to go and would just go in the wrap, but he felt like holding it that day. So when we did let him out to potty, I just didn’t remove the wrap immediately.
Once he did go, I did remove it immediately. I don’t like the idea of him sitting in it for long, and our dogs are never left alone long enough that we would be finding out about the six-hour protection. However, from what I saw, this wrap did not get soggy like some cheaper-made brands. It looked to hold everything nicely and came off him easily for me (but not too easily for him to sneak out of it).
These will most certainly be packed for our next road trip. I like to be as sustainable as possible but we don’t always know when we will have a washer and dryer in our travels, I don’t want to be carrying around pee-smelling wraps, or hand wash them and worry if they’re dry enough. We never leave our dogs unattended to roam in a hotel or BNB situation. But, when we are sitting relaxing, sometimes the other odors left behind by previous dog guests are tempting for my dogs to try to cover up. This will be a better option than paying extra cleaning fees.
I 100% recommend these, while I can’t attest to the 6-hour protection, from what I saw they will hold up until you can get your dog outside to relieve himself.
