Give Your Opinion & Make Money with These Apps!
We’ve all got an opinion on something, or many opinions on everything. The beauty of that is that there are companies who will pay you for yours! In this post we will discuss some apps that will pay you to give your opinion. That’s right, earn a variety of rewards from gift cards, to product discounts, to cash, just for answering a few questions.
Most are referred to as Survey Sites. Companies are looking to see what current, potential, and former customers are looking for, what their purchasing patterns are, when and how they shop. Political groups, research facilities and groups, and even content creators are all looking to see what the general public thinks. In return for giving them valuable information, they usually pay some sort of fee to the companies who do the surveys to then direct some of that payment to you, the survey taker.
They will have you fill out a W-9 form for taxes once you hit $550 in a calendar year. Which most of these sites on this post probably will as well. Using sites like these, I’ve not had to encounter that as I haven’t made anywhere near that total, let alone in a single calendar year.
Apps Known for Surveys
These are the bigger names in Survey Sites/Apps. The main, sometimes only, way to earn is to give your opinion. Most times you’ll start with a feeler survey to see which ones you are a good fit to take. For instance, if you don’t own a swimming pool, a survey about pool supplies wouldn’t be the survey for you.
Here are some of our favorite sites/apps and some popular ones we think you should know about.
- Swagbucks
- Survey Junkie
- Google Opinion Rewards
- QMee
- Inbox Dollars
- Branded Surveys
Swagbucks
This is one of our favorite apps/sites. There are a variety of ways to earn swagbucks (their point system) to redeem later for gift cards or even to be paid through PayPal. Watching videos, playing games, and submitting receipts are among the ways to earn, but the biggest way to earn is through surveys.
The average survey pays around $.30 to $3.00, depending on the survey itself and time required to take it. You may just be asked questions. You may also be shown a video or a variety of designs for the same product, then asked what you think of them. Is this a product you would purchase? Which label attracts your eye more?
Personally, I’ve done some very interesting surveys thought this site, and have spent some downtime taking surveys to work towards gift cards. My favorite is to cash out for Groupon or Amazon towards experiences or products later.

Survey Junkie
Now, this is one we are not familiar with, so I’ll just summarize. While it won’t replace your full-time income, Survey Junkie seems to be a pretty legitimate way to make some extra money. Like other sites, you can participate in a variety of surveys, which average from 50ยข to $3.00 in payment. You can cash out with as little as $5 in your account!
It looks like you can also participate in product testing, online focus groups, in person focus groups, and phone surveys if you want in exchange for a listed payment amount.
Google Opinion Rewards
Google Opinion Rewards asks you questions about your interests, hobbies, or purchase habits. It uses your Google Maps location to see what retail locations you may have visited lately and will ask about your stop at those locations or if you stopped at all.
You receive payment via Google Play Store cash to use towards purchases made through the Google Play Store. You can purchase books, music, apps, and in-app purchases like boosters in games. We believe if you have an iPhone you’ll get PayPal credits. Can someone with iOS confirm that?

QMee
Following in the footsteps of the previously mentioned sites, QMee claims to have no minimum cashout amount. This doesn’t mean “quick money” though as most sites take a few hours if not a few days to verify points and send to your specified receptacle (PayPal, bank, gift cards, etc). In addition to surveys you can earn with cash back offers (submitting receipts), playing games, and searching the web via the desktop browser add on.
Inbox Dollars
Inbox Dollars seems to have been around forever, since 2000! Why I haven’t joined yet, I don’t know. Perhaps this is the nudge I need. Make between 10ยข and $5/ survey. It also appears they have a Scratch & Win setup, probably similar to a virtual lottery ticket? Since I’m not signed up (yet), I’m not sure if that’s a frequent thing or special occasion. You’ll need at least $15 in your account to cash out, which is kind of high compared to other survey apps, but not high compared to other cash back apps in general.
Branded Surveys
Started in 2012 as Mintvine, Branded Surveys became the official name in 2017. You can earn money with Branded Surveys through surveys, polls, leaderboards (for points earned in certain periods of time), and of course referrals. Surveys average between 50ยข and $5 for payment, and you can cash out via PayPal, Visa Card, or Gift Cards with as little as $5 in your account.
Apps You May Not Have Thought Of
Now, these are cash back apps that are usually known for rewarding cash back based on items purchased and submitting receipts. However, all have survey options as well!
- Checkout51
- Receipt Hog
- National Consumer Panel
- Amazon Shopper Panel
Checkout51
Known more as a receipt submission app, one of the newer features to Checkout51 are surveys! Similar to many other survey sites, you’re going to answer a few preliminary questions to see what surveys you are a best fit for. Another way to earn with Checkout51 is through gas purchases! Isn’t that a help these days?!
Once you reach $20 you can cash out your earnings via PayPal or a physical check (they still have those!).

Receipt Hog
Mostly a receipt submission app, Receipt Hog does periodically ask you to give your opinion on recent shopping trips and experiences. The surveys will ask about previously submitted receipts. This is a great way to add to your point balance in between receipt submissions and help you level up.
Payout in Receipt Hog is available via Amazon Gift Card, Visa Prepaid Card, or PayPal.

National Consumer Panel
I’ve been a member of National Consumer Panel for a few years now. Just haven’t gotten around to sharing it with you all yet. With NCP, you scan the individual items you purchased during your trip, enter prices, and your total.
They do have a multitude of surveys each month, in which you can select points towards gift cards as a reward. Or you can be entered into monthly drawings for a variety of prizes. I’ve never entered the drawing, I just always take the points!

Amazon Shopper Panel
With Amazon Shopper Panel you simply scan 10 receipts per month. Once the app accepts them, you’ve earned yourself a $10 Amazon gift card which you’ll receive the start of the following month.
Periodically you’ll get the opportunity to answer short 1-3 question surveys about purchases. I’ve averaged 25 to 50 cents, my husband; however, has earned a dollar off of some!

Give Your Opinion and Make Money! – Final Notes
While these sites, even combined, probably cannot replace your regular income, they’re a great way to pass the time to earn a little extra cash. Take whatever surveys you can and use some of the other features of each app like watching videos or playing games to earn even more. Start now and save up some gift cards to cover next holiday season’s purchases!
